Tefillin

The project "Tefillin" is a prototype of the traditional black leather boxes with leather straps that contain verses of the Torah. The triangle and square symbols, along with the color palette, derive from Yemeni Jewish jewelry. The cloth represents the high priest's traditional garment, and the stone at the bottom is an emerald, one of the twelve precious stones that correspond to the twelve tribes of Israel. It's the final project for a Judaica I seminar I took at Bezalel Academy.
